Transanal sterile disposable tube

 
NO COIL is a soft and elastic medical silicone transanal tube with a slightly conical shape that makes it atraumatic. Designed to cover the area of the anal canal subjected to coloanalrectal anastomosis, it is used in order to eliminate endoluminal pressure, a possible cause of the onset of anal fistula, which reaches very high values during defecation. NO COIL is available in 3 lengths: 6, 7 and 8 cm all with an outer diameter of 18 mm (int. 16 mm).

At the end of the surgery, after the anastomosis, with the patient is still under narcosis, the suitably lubricated NO COIL is inserted, leaving about two centimetres outside the anus where it is fixed with two stitches to the skin of the perineum. It is recommended that the NO COIL be removed on the sixth day unless otherwise indicated by medical advice.
